#### Uploading and Launching Your First Render

To start your first render, click on the `Upload / Launch Renders` menu item under the `File Manager` menu tab.

The Concierge Transfer upload application on the File Manager page is made to accept both single file uploads as well as uploading an entire directory. Choose the appropriate type of upload `Upload files` or `Upload folder` and browse to your item. The Concierge Transfer upload application is built to handle projects small and large, all with the ability to resume a transfer if your internet connection stalls or is extremely slow. If your upload is interrupted, simply restart the same file or folder and Concierge will pick up where you left off.

Once your file is uploaded, the Concierge Render system will automatically perform "Analysis" on your file. This is to ensure that your file uploaded correctly, and will warn of any missing linked assets that may not have been correctly included with the file.&#x20;

To launch the render, click on the button labeled `Actions` in the file table, and `Launch Render`.

![](https://2229657315-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-MCDaBMkZJ3OMad5jJCw%2F-MChEYQe2tYSLCNbLuW-%2F-MChfP-LKMnESEjcnagE%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=9c992a77-746d-440a-bab1-450c32e33cb7)

The `Launch Render` form will be auto-populated with the information contained in the render file, and is ready for you to select your options. When running your first render, it is suggested to always run a `Preview` render to make sure the output is as expected, plus it's free!

Once your render is successfully launched, browse to the `Job Manager` page to track and download your render output.

#### Watching Your Render Progress

The `Job Manager` and `Dashboard` pages have links to your current, recent and historic job pages. On these pages you can view helpful information like the cost of the render, total time to render, in addition to the rendered output from the job. If for any reason you need to cancel a job during the render process, clicking the `Cancel` button on the job page will stop the current render process.

![](https://2229657315-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-MCDaBMkZJ3OMad5jJCw%2F-MChkrfo0kT187gJyyKy%2F-MChzmMmlJADOGxkoDdD%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=03047632-f7c7-4447-be86-e44e0c6c7f03)

# Concierge Render FAQ

## How do I claim my $5 free credits?

Head to your [account manager page](https://www.conciergerender.com/account) to verify your phone number and have your $5 free Concierge credits added to your account.&#x20;

## My render is stuck and not completing anymore frames. HELP!

If you find your render has stopped progressing please click the purple render button within this job and then click render. This will assign all unfinished frames to new hardware. In some instances you will need to upgrade to a higher hardware selection, you may do this by clicking the purple render button and then selecting the next highest hardware and clicking render.&#x20;

## Can I render my project with a video output?

At this time we only support still image outputs on Conicerge. You may create a video with Blender or the video editing software of your choice in post production.&#x20;

## Can I render for free?

You can run a free render preview on Concierge. The free Preview allows you to view a low res version of Frame 1 of your job to get a cost and time estimate(based on your full resolution). With the free preview, you can also check to make sure your assets are all in place.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
You will need to have a positive balance to run a Preview job.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## Can I upload Zip files to Concierge?

Yes, you can upload zip files to Concierge. Please note there is an analysis stage that happens to all files on Concierge, which will happen while your project unzips. You can expect your zip file to a few minutes to unzip into folder form. If you feel there is an error and your project has not been unzipped properly, please reach out to Customer Support via email or chat.&#x20;

## Can I upload RAR files to Concierge?

At this time, we do not accept RAR files to be uploaded to Concierge.&#x20;

## My render job has a "Server Error," what do I do?

If your job shows a Server Error message, please click "Re-render Frames" and select a higher hardware selection. This will render all frames that were unable to be rendered by your original hardware selection.

![Render Error- "Server error"](https://2229657315-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-MCDaBMkZJ3OMad5jJCw%2F-Mgpq4HhytqhsIguPIuS%2F-MgpqwDlJNlMveDh-Woo%2FScreen%20Shot%202021-08-11%20at%2011.36.16%20AM.png?alt=media\&token=873e36da-4538-4364-a024-5f7f4c357711)

You may also see "Server Error" if you are using nonmatching Blender versions. For instance, a new Blender release trying to be rendered on an older Blender version.&#x20;

## My render is pink; my textures are missing! How do I fix this?&#x20;

If your render or parts of your render are outputting pink, you are missing textures. To render your project properly, you will need to repack your job and resubmit to Concierge.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
If you are using an image or a video as a texture, please note you will need to upload these assets into a folder onto Concierge, set all paths to relative, and save your project. When uploading your folder to Concierge, you do not need to zip the folder.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## My simulation did not render; how do I fix this?

When rendering a simulation on Concierge render, you must include all of the cache associated with your project in the folder you upload to Concierge. Check out the tutorials linked below for further information.

{% endcontent-ref %}

## Can I run Python Scripts on Concierge?

We do not currently support Python Scripts on Concierge.&#x20;

## How many jobs can I run at one time?

You may run as many jobs as you want! There is no limit to the number of jobs being run at any given time.

## My render has missing frames!

Your jobs are rendered in parallel on Concierge; this means they do not always render or finish in order. If you are still missing frames once your project has been completed, please reach out to customer service via the Concierge support chat.&#x20;

## My Eevee render has errors/glitches. How do I fix this?

There are a few known bugs in Eevee that cause frames to glitch, including having blank frames, bright lights, etc. The only solution if this happens is to re-run the frame. You can do this by identifying the frame number and running a still image render of that frame.&#x20;

## How do I refill my render credits?

You can refill your render credits by clicking this [link](https://www.conciergerender.com/buy-credits). We accept PayPal and Credit Cards on Concierge.

It depends on the add-on! If the add-on you are using in your project is not listed and you would like Concierge to support it, please send an email to <support@coreweave.com> with a link to the add-on and any other pertinent information that will help us assist you. We do not guarantee support of third-party add-ons but do our best to support what our clients use!

## Is motion blur supported on Concierge?

Short answer- yes but it is buggy! Use at your own risk, we often find that projects using Motion Blur tend to experience jumpy renders and inconsistent render experiences.&#x20;

# Error Messages

Concierge Render Error Messages

Unfortunately, not all renders go as planned, and we want to let you know when that happens so that you, can act accordingly. We recently added a new feature to the job status page which allows you to rerender jobs when they encounter an error. Below are some of the errors you might experience and the best ways to handle them.&#x20;

**Note: Concierge Render DOES NOT charge for uncompleted frames, no matter how much time the frame spent rendering before failing.**<br>

**GPU out of memory**

This error occurs when the total size of the textures and assets for the job were too large and cannot be loaded into memory on the GPU (VRAM). To resolve this issue we recommend selecting a hardware offering with more VRAM. For example, if a job was run on our Econ hardware offering, which uses a GPU with 8GB VRAM, and it returns a GPU out of memory error, try upgrading to the Silver offering which utilizes a NVIDIA V100 which has 16GB of VRAM. If this does not fix the problem you can try a CPU node so that the assets don’t have to be loaded onto any graphics cards.<br>

**System out of memory**

This error occurs when the size of all the assets cannot be loaded into the onboard memory (RAM) on the server. To resolve this issue we recommend selecting a hardware offering that has more RAM. For example, if a job was run on our Silver hardware offering, which has 40GB of RAM on board, and it returns a system out of memory error, try upgrading to the Gold or Platinum offerings which have 80GB and 176GB of RAM respectively.<br>

**Segmentation fault**

There are multiple reasons why these errors occur.\
1\. Bugs in Blender software

2\. Bugs in third-party addons

3\. Driver bugs

We do our best to use the latest and most stable version software versions and actively monitor your render processes so that we can wrangle all unexpected bugs. We recommend rerunning the job on the same hardware. If that does not help, please reach out to our support team for assistance.<br>

**Server Error**

This is an overarching error used to capture undocumented/unhandled errors in the render process. We are working hard to try and provide the best user experience possible and as new errors appear we try to capture them and handle them correctly. We recommend rerunning the job on the next highest hardware to complete the rendering. If that does not help, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

For common Blender problems refer to the [Blender documentation](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/gpu/common/other.html?highlight=error%20messages).<br>

Tips & Tricks for Successfully Rendering Blender Scenes

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Complex Jobs**

Do you have a complex job that you need done as soon as possible? Reach out to us at [support@coreweave.com](mailto:%20support@coreweave.com) and we can help meet any deadline or requirements you have.
{% endhint %}

#### Correctly Packing Jobs for Upload

When preparing your job to be uploaded for render on Concierge, all assets and textures must be packed into the `.blend` file.&#x20;

To pack textures and assets into your project, browse to:

![](https://2229657315-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-MCDaBMkZJ3OMad5jJCw%2F-MCi7tRabJD2oexpviq3%2F-MCiAI_-70toJbVnMhLg%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=531b757e-1eef-447b-b314-99067cc5753a)

Once `Automatically Pack Into .blend` has been selected, also select `Make All Paths Relative` and save your project. Your project is now ready to upload to Concierge on the `File Manager -> Upload / Launch Renders` page.

If you are using images or videos as a texture you will need to upload these assets in a folder with your blend.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
Check out our [tutorial](https://youtu.be/kj0Pi4zcBgw) on how to pack your job
{% endhint %}

**Cost Estimates**

When running a `Preview` frame on Concierge Render, the cost estimate will be more accurate for more complex scenes. If your render time is very short, the cost estimate will be over-estimated, in some cases severely. While the `Preview` feature is great for checking your work along the way, we suggest running a single frame at full resolution before submitting your finished job to get the most accurate estimate.

#### Render Artifacts

All artifacts (meaning layers and node output) are generated and delivered in your job output folder automatically. If you do not want/require these, please disable them in your .blend file locally before uploading.

{% hint style="info" %}
The output of multiple artifacts does not increase the cost of your renders.
{% endhint %}
